What Is The Best Online Business To Start In 2023?

Top Digital Business

Amazon FBA, right? No wait, Shopify dropshipping. That’s gotta be it. Or, wait, maybe it’s self-publishing. Like, you know, audiobooks on Audible or eBooks on Amazon KDP. Or is it still something old school, like blogging or affiliate marketing? Running Facebook ads for local businesses? Nah, that stuff doesn’t work anymore, does it? Maybe the best internet business to start in 2023 is Walmart automation. Or maybe you shouldn’t bother; maybe you should just gamble on crypto and flip NFTs, right?

Truth is, there’s no such thing as “the best online business to start this year.” Not for everyone in every situation, anyways. But there may be a best one for you and your situation. One that’s ideal for who you are and what you like and what you’re good at and how much time and money you have to launch with, and how much money you wanna make and what you want your perfect day to look like, right? And no one knows that till they sit down and talk with ya.

So don’t listen to the noise. Amazon FBA automation this, Remote Closer that. Every guru with a course or coaching program or, God help us, a simple three-step system, is gonna say their thing is the best. They have to. It’s how they make their millions, right? But here’s what I believe. I believe every side hustle and business model you see being promoted has its own unique set of pros and cons, and once you understand those, you can pick the one that’s right for you.

I also think that almost any of ’em can work, assuming you do all the things you’d need to do on your end to make them work. Which, most people won’t, but that’s another rant for another article. My point, though, is don’t let some stranger, who just interrupted your YouTube rabbit hole with an ad that starts out, “Wait! Big news!” tell you what’s what. He doesn’t know what’s best for you; only you do. So start narrowing it down based on yourself.

That Laptop Lifestyle

How much time and money do you have to devote to this? Are you a hard worker or a little on the lazy side? How much money are you trying to make? How fast? Like, are you all about instant gratification or are you cool if it takes a little longer? Do you wanna be in front of the camera or more behind-the-scenes? How ’bout having to deal with customers and clients? Yay or nay? What about selling? Okay with it? Or hate it, like me? And what are you already good at? And how do you wanna spend your days?

What do you value? Like, what could you see yourself feeling really good about being involved with? What’s your risk tolerance? Are you okay with building a team? Hiring independent contractors and employees and such? Or would you rather be a one-person show? And then maybe get a little help from your significant other or your teenage son, for example? What’s more important: something you can scale, quickly, but that’s more volatile, or something that’s slow and steady, that produces predictable monthly income you can count on for a long time to come?

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Really spend some time and think about what you want; and after you do, I think the best business for you to start in 2023 will be pretty obvious. And it’s probably not the one from that obnoxious newsfeed ad you just saw, and it’s probably not even the one I link to below. You have to do you. Stop letting slick-talking strangers and greedy gurus and their countdown timers force you to do something you don’t wanna do, that’s all.
