Chris Patterson owns Interchanges.com. They help companies make more money and have more fun along the way. They’ve generated $1.6 billion for their clients.
Chris also runs Live Large Coaching, Quantum Leap Mindset, and Thinking Into Results. These are programs designed to turn struggling 6-figure entrepreneurs into 7-figure powerhouses.
My first impression of Chris? Jim Rohn with a gym membership.
But he’s had his picture taken with Grant Cardone, Ed Mylett, Michael Chandler, and 50 Cent, so he must be legit, right?
Let’s hear him out.
Chris says he works with anyone serious about taking a quantum leap in their life. Must be coachable, ethical, willing to put in the work, blah blah blah.
Chris defines success as the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Worthy ideal being your fantasy. Something that both excites and scares you. For Elon Musk, it’s colonizing Mars. Progressive realization, then, is what you’re doing to make that a reality. The steps you’re taking, the ground you’re gaining.
Chris talks about A-goals: things you know you can do because you’ve already done them. You ran a half marathon seven years ago and now you wanna run another one. That’s an A-goal.
Then there’s B-goals: things you’re pretty sure you could do because you’ve done something similar before. Maybe you’ve done a half marathon and now you wanna sign up for a full marathon. It would be twice as hard, sure, but the blueprint’s the same. Give yourself enough time, put in the proper training, and chances are, you could finish one.
Last, you got C-goals: things you dream about but doubt you could even pull off. Like, where would you even begin? And who are you to set your sights so high? Things like that don’t happen to people like you, right? When such negative thoughts start taunting you, that’s how you know it’s a C-goal.
Which, as you might’ve guessed, that’s the kinda thing Chris wants you going after. Something that’s gonna get you outta bed in the morning and keep you energized throughout the day.
Chris wants you to write out one C-goal – one worthy ideal, one fantasy – for your personal and professional life.
Then you gotta close the gap between knowing and doing.
How? Identify your NPAs, your non-productive actions, Chris says. So if you were trying to lose weight, this might include raiding the pantry, ordering Uber Eats, binging Netflix at night.
Cool. Now use the Law of Polarity – as in every up has a down, every left has a right, every light has a dark – to turn those NPAs into PAs, or productive actions. Maybe you decide you’ll stock the fridge with fruits and veggies and meats, meal prep every Sunday, and walk on the treadmill four nights a week.
Revolutionary, Chris. Less bad, more good? Why didn’t I think of that?
Now he’s babbling about the so-called Terror Barrier. And how the one thing that’ll hold you back from adopting a quantum leap mindset is fear.
All FEAR is, Chris says, is False Evidence Appearing Real.
Wow, Chris is on a roll. What’s next? Never Eat Shredded Wheat to remember compass directions?
Anyways, yeah, one minute you’re marching towards your C-goal, the next something spooks ya so bad you’re retreating to your comfort zone.
Figure out, what are those Terror Barriers for you? If you can anticipate them in advance, then when they show up, you can smash right through ’em, Chris explains.
I’m tapping out.
I don’t even wanna know how much Live Large Coaching costs. I might break out in hives if you told me. My throat might swell shut.
Chris makes “live, laugh, love” sound like Einstein’s E = mc2.
